Illustrating issues of mental health in children, a dog and cat overcome their differences, become friends, and decide to visit the park together. Along the way, they meet new friends and learn to cope with sadness and accept individuality. At the Corn Stand Jam, everyone danced and agreed that there is always someone to talk to. It was obvious that all were unique and just because a person likes other things or looks different than you doesn't make them bad.
Scott Smallwood is a research chemist, father, mountain biker, former rugby player, loving husband, and a proud citizen of Hamilton, Ohio. He always wanted to write a children's book and was inspired by the mission behind the Corn Stand Jam.
Illustrator Hannah Tebbe is a digital artist local to the Hamilton, Ohio area and a proud cat mom to Bug and three other fur babies. Mental health has always been an important topic to her and one she feels she can relate to and talk about strongly.
